  Christmas Eve, what are you doing tonight?

  i might go over to my parents for a few hours, have dinner there, then come back here at my apartment in the evening and have a few beers and chips while i post.. i bought a christmas present for my cat...... new brand of high quality cat food which she tried and she loves..... http://www.royalcanin.ca/products/fn/indoor/mature_en.php.

  Having dinner with my girlfriend.

  Opening presents tonight.

  Before I became a Witness my family opened all our gifts on Christmas Eve.

  This will be my first Christmas celebration since 1972.

  What's your expierence at a DUB wedding/reception?

  i'm invited to wedding/reception tomorrow (on christmas-naturally) only reason i'm going is because its my one chance to get new shoes, dress, the whole bit at my mother's expense (since she seems to think i will find my future middle-aged elder husband at one of these functions)

  i definetly plan to buy one of those mini-bottles of seagrams and get buzzed of course.

  who wants to listen to 10 different speeches from family and friends about "how wonderful this spiritual union is of so and so) yawn!

  joseph smith founded the church in 1830, 10 years after he claimed to experience a vision of god and jesus in a grove of trees near his family home in palmyra, n.y. he also said an angel named moroni led him to a set of buried gold plates that contained the ancient records of christ's dealings with the inhabitants of the americas.

  smith's translation of the plates became known as the book of mormon, the text on which mormons base their religion.. smith's original church had just six members, mostly his family, and only 5,000 copies of the book of mormon were published at first.

  he sent out a handful of missionaries.. today mormonism has more than 12 million members half of them outside the united states.

  Did you ever preach door to door on a Christmas day?

  i don't know if it's only our congregation or every congregation was the same, but no door to door was organized on christmas day.

  that was the only day of the year that the jw's in our area wouldn't go pest people.. wonder why?

  it was fun!

  the only thing that sucked about it was the fact that i had no idea how to wrap a gift... late 20's and i've never wrapped a present before????

  I just wrapped a Christmas present for the first time!

  It isn't pretty but I am sure my girlfriend will recognize the thought behind it.

  I am looking forward to unwrapping all the presents under the tree and celebrating Christmas with people I love.

  Reality, Reason and Logic with my own happiness as an end in its self. I live a joyfull life.

  I do not understand how Theists can be happy that they are "Slaves" and need a God to decide for them what is good or bad.

  The Who's Who of Saviours, Here's Three, You Tell Me?

  saviour#1 who was born dec. 25th of a virgin mother, called a saviour and the only-begotten son, died to save mankid, crucified on black fridy, his blood spilled to redeem the earth, suffering death with nails and stakes, the father and son combined in the earthly body, put in a tomb, went down into the underworld and 3 days later his body disappears from the tomb and he was resurrected as the most high god whose body symbolized by bread and was eaten by his followers?

  saviour#2 who was born of a virgin mother on dec. 25th and his father was a carpenter, a star marked his birthplace and angels and shepherds were attending, the ruler slaughtered infants in order to kill him, but he survived to heal the sick, lepers, blind and deaf, dying about the age of 30 being crucified on a tree, portrayed on a cross, rose from the dead, considered the saviour, followers knew him as jezeus (which means pure essence) and it is said he will return on a white horse to judge the dead and fight the prince of evil?

  saviour#3 who was born to a virgin mother on dec 25th, put in a manger in swadling clothes, became a traveling teacher performing miracles, turning water into wine, rode in triumph on an ass, became known as the lamb of god, god of the vine, god of gods, king of kings, only begotten son, bearer of sins, redeemer, anointed one (christos), alpha and omega, hung and crucified on a tree and rose from the dead on mar.

  "Should We Continue To Be What We Are?"

  many persons seem to think that they should continue to be what they are, at least as far as religion is concerned.

  they will tell you that their parents and grandparents belonged to a certain religion, and they see no reason for making a change....

  in many of the ordinary matters of life we make changes.

  Execution in United States Are You For It?

  from the ap.... raleigh, n.c. - a man who killed his wife and father-in-law pinned his hopes on last-minute intervention from the governor or the courts as he awaited lethal injection early friday in the nation's 1,000th execution since capital punishment resumed in 1977. kenneth lee boyd, set to die at 2 a.m., spent the day receiving visitors, including two sons who watched him gun down their mother and grandfather in 1988. .

  my questions are; are you for or against the death penalty?

  what was your opinion of the death penalty as a jehovah's witness?.

  When I was a Witness I was opposed to the death penalty on the grounds that only God should decide who lives and who dies.

  I have changed my mind.

  If someone takes a life in premeditated cold blood that person forfeits his or her own life.

  The execution should be within one month of conviction.

  I would gladly put such a person to death without batting an eye.
